#1

I was going to wait to post this, but I figured I may as well share rather than leaving it lurking about. More posts after 15th June!

(taken on 21st May 2007 - I said that fashion never stops)

I said I’ve been wanting to try out fashion photography and since I know nobody who would be willing to be a model, I thought diy it (quite literally). So here is my first attempt and hopefully at some point, I shall meet someone willing to model for my next, so that it can venture into the realm of clothing rather than just heads.

The past week

I’ve been appauling with updating recently. I don’t really have much of an excuse either. I suppose the biggest fashion news this week was Kate Moss for Topshop collection being released. Honestly, I am not going to bother doing any posts on it because frankly, I don’t find much of it appealing. You can of course check out various other blogs (such as Fashionologie and Catwalk Queen) for sufficent coverage if you are a Moss fan.

I on the other hand, have been celebrating a birthday and consuming more than I normally do (in the way of shopping not eating).

I’d rather buy things from shops in the sales or when they’re reduced. And Topshop’s buy one get one free offer means I have aquired 4 different garments.

A small browse of Urban Outfitters also saw these shoes (pictured) coming into my ever so small collection. When shoes are reduced from £35 to £9.99, you just can’t say no, even if you can’t walk in heels! At least now, I can learn/practice before the school prom in June (oh yay, what fun… that was sarcasm).

Memory Lane

The holidays can be dull sometimes. And on one of those dull days where you just sort of amble around the house a bit, a trip through the archives of Foto Decadent is in order.

Of course, that’s exactly what I did to cure my boredom and all I can really say is wow. Some of the dress are absolutely amazing and the photographs are equally stunning. For some reason, I found myself drawn more toward the black and white photographs. Maybe it’s just the mood of the images (or the mood I’m in). Regardless they’re enough to spark some form of fashion interest, even in someone who claims they don’t follow fashion.

Air stewardess chic?

This reminds me of air stewardess clothing. You know the kind with that really awful looking print, that rarely looks good. Well, that opinion has now gone out of the window! I actually quite like the top and the general styling of the outfit. It’s simple, which is definately what you want in hot summer months.

Leggings for the faint hearted

You know my aversion to footless tights. I really really detest them… yet somehow, I quite like this look. I know they’re leggings, which is different to footless tights, but the principle is more or less the same. I find the leggings look more tasteful and it’s slightly different (you don’t look like a sheep to trends… I think I just have an anti-trend thing or fear of looking like everyone else).

To be honest, I generally quite like leggings (although I wouldn’t wear them because you need good legs). You could wear them with quite a voluminous top, long t-shirts or as pictured here. They’re quite versitile really. Hmm, *ponders*…

It’s in the jeans

I really like the jeans this model has.

I am a bit fed up of skinny jeans now (although the trend is alive and well) - wearing and seeing, no matter how much I have grown to like the trend. I may practically live in my jeans, but I’m not an expert on the trends or styles etc (Denimology is good for that), but I do think something along the lines of what this model is wearing is a look for the future.
